Autism Pre-Evaluation

A thorough review of medical, developmental, and family history and physical exam as well as questionnaires regarding autism risk and cognitive abilities. Then a meeting to discuss and determine the utility of pursuing further diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder using standardized testing instruments such as the ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, 2nd Edition) or CARS-2 (Childhood Autism Rating Scale, 2nd Edition).

Autism Evaluation with Standardized Testing

The ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition) is a gold-standard tool used in autism evaluations. It provides a structured, play- and conversation-based assessment that helps clinicians observe social communication, behavior, and interaction patterns. Its standardized format supports accurate diagnosis across age groups and developmental levels. A diagnosis with standardized instruments and accompanying report is often required for coverage of applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy insurance coverage.

Coaching for Neurodiverse Families

Family coaching to support neurodiverse children and their caregivers, especially during times of transition. Bringing medical insight to understanding developmental needs, parenting capacity, and family dynamics unique to each individual family. Can also provide guidance to legal professionals involved in educational advocacy or family law.

Education Liaison

Meeting to discuss the results of the autism evaluation with an educational team including but not limited to: school psychologists, guidance counselors, social workers, teachers, principals, and/or therapists for the purposes of developing a holistic team-based strategy such as within a 504 Plan or an Individualized Education Plan.
